About Us

National Resource Centre for Civil Society in Albania is a platform of information and service provision which contributes to the strengthening of civil society’s capacities to be more effective, transparent, accountable and independent actors and to the creation of an enabling environment for the civil society, participatory democracy and the integration process of Albania into the European Union. The establishment of the Centre is in continuity to a dedicated work for many years of Partners Albania, in support to strengthening of civil society sector and other stakeholders in the county. The initiative is financed by the European Union, and is implemented by Partners Albania in partnership with the Albanian Center for Population and Development (ACPD) and the European Movement in Albania (EMA).

Implementing organizations

Partners Albania is an independent Albanian NGO established in 2001, working to support civil society and facilitate inter-sector cooperation in order to strengthen democratic institutions and advance economic development.

Partners Albania is a member of Partners Network, a partnership of 22 independent, local organizations in Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East working for peaceful and democratic change.

Partners Albania is also a member of several European and regional networks such as Euclid BCSDNECAS etc.

Albanian Centre for Population and Development (ACPD) since 1993 responds to the changing needs and development of the population, protection/defend of human rights, provision of information and services across the country. The organization is membership based (about 206 active members), with three local branches and offices located in Tirana (central), Vlora (south) and Shkodra (north), the organization has a wide coverage of its activities in urban, suburb and rural areas of the three regions. The target of its work is CSOs and community groups across the country, in particular in the peripheral, rural areas and with small CSOs and diverse community groups (marginalized groups, youth, women, Roma and other minorities, LGBTI etc).

European Movement in Albania (EMA) is a national think tank established in 2007 with more than 11 years of experience, devoted to improving the public debate, promoting capacity building and pushing forward the country’s European integration process. EMA has a great contribution in the promotion of European values and European integration process, and improving the policy development process in the country. It attempts at making the policy-making process more transparent and open, and responsive to the public interest, offering alternative suggestions for public institutions based on evidenced research.
