MISSION:

The association aims to promote cultural heritage and tourism in the Gjirokastra District. To achieve this goal, the association will carry out any economic or non-economic activity that serves to achieve the goal and especially in the following directions:
• Development and maintenance of the “Visit Gjirokastra” portal, ensuring that the interest of all tourism actors is represented correctly and transparently;
• Designing and organizing the marketing of the tourist products of the area, in ways and forms that match the intended results and the tools available for this purpose;
• Preservation and promotion of cultural heritage;
• Presentation and promotion of services and new products in the field of tourism;
• Creation of an information infrastructure, easily accessible by any individual interested in learning about the city of Gjirokastra and the surrounding areas as well as visiting them;
• Coordination of all actors, including associations, local self-government units, accommodation businesses, agritourism and rural tourism, tour guides and other actors who have a role in the smooth running and further development of tourism;
• Advertising of natural beauties, cultural heritage, tourist attractions and tourist guides;
• Implementation of the concepts of social, economic and environmental sustainability;
• Enabling and facilitating connections and cooperation with other partners, inside and outside the country;
• Organization of local and wider activities aimed at promoting and developing tourism, such as fairs, exhibitions and other activities with wide participation of various actors;
• Organization of trainings for improving the quality of services and other topics that serve to improve the tourist offer;
• Preparation and distribution of promotional materials;
• Taking initiatives and participating in regional, national or international projects;
• Promotion of typical agro-food and handicraft products
• Registering the name “Visit Gjirokastra” as a trademark of typical geographical origin, which will represent the territory and members of the Society;
